Grupo Planeta (“Planeta” or the “Company”) is a leading Spanish company, primarily engaged in publishing, direct sale, bookstore retail, higher education and media businesses across Spain and Latin America.
PGIM Private Capital’s relationship with Grupo Planeta began in 2020, as the Company considered alternative debt solutions. Over time, we continued a dialogue with the management team and introduced the team to features of a private placement issuance.
Planeta was looking to partially refinance its existing bank facilities in order to: i) diversify its capital structure, ii) increase the average life of its debt, and iii) preserve cash flow through a flexible amortization structure.
Grupo Planeta decided to partner with us given our ability to provide financing with a longer tenor, flexible structuring, and diversification of its existing bank debt. In September 2023, we provided €100 million Senior Facility to the Company.
We are proud to continue to partner with Grupo Planeta, and we look forward to supporting the business for the long-term.
